John Denver, a singer-songwriter from Colorado that specialized in folk pop music touched the hearts of millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Deutschedorf of Roswell located in the state of New Mexico,, was in Love with Colorado. He moved to Aspen. Denver's state anthems are a hit and have been a draw for many who have come fans to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame said it was John Denver was the best artist to capture Colorado. Denver was the premier Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. Denver is the icon of Colorado to many all over the world. In my travels I've met folks who are from New Zealand or the other side. If you say that you're from Colorado The first thing that they'll hear are Oh John Denver. Brown admitted. Take Me Home Country Roads, co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief career in folk groups which was Denver's first Top 10 solo hit. Danoff had originally written the tune using Johnny Cash's songs in thoughts, however Denver knew from the first moment he heard earlier versions that the track could be a huge smash.
