Ayanna pressley is a woman of many talents. She is an activist, advocate, and expert in policy. Ayanna Pressley was elected on November 6, 2018, to serve as the representative of Massachusetts' seventh Congressional District at the U.S. House of Representatives. She is the first female of color to have been elected to the House from Massachusetts. Ayanna believes that those closest to the pain should be the closest to power and that a diversity of opinions in the political system is crucial in the creation of more effective public policies. Ayanna, who was raised by a single mom in Chicago after being born to a family in Cincinnati is the sole daughter of a father who worked in the justice system. Ayanna was brought up in the home of Sandra Pressley, a tenant's rights activist who taught her civic engagement. Ayanna's mother was an activist, who taught her the importance of taking part in civic activities.
